Attendance matters
At Whitchurch Primary School attendance matters. We follow a simple insistence that children are:
- In school.
- On time.
- Every day.
This is an area in which as a school we can at times underperform nationally. This is unacceptable as at Whitchurch we like to exceed in all areas that we can, so we insist on parents and carers supporting us in this area.
To do this, have your children in school, on time, every day.
You can do this by leaving for school giving good time. We are on the main road between Bristol and Bath, so predicting the traffic is very difficult, as is parking in and around our local area. Aid yourself and your children by:
- Giving yourselves good time to get to school.
- Walking.
- Parking in the nearby Toby Carvery Car Park. We have an agreement that parents/carers from our school can use the car park, free, for 15 minutes at the start and end of each day.
Should this be a challenge, please speak to Mr Hornsby. We work closely alongside the Local Authority and Noble Education to meet with and support families in meeting our insistences.
Further information can be found in our attendance policy, weekly newsletter entries and our termly attendance newsletters, which are posted below.
